Welcome to the website of the 2010 SASS Cowboy Action Shooting Maine State Championship Match.
This event will be hosted by the Beaver Creek Desperados at the Sanford-Springvale Fish & Game Protective Association's facility in North Berwick, Maine.
We are pleased to be sanctioned by the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) for this event.
All SASS Rules apply. You must be a SASS member to shoot.
Entry Applications will be accepted until High Noon, 10 September 2010, or until we reach our maximum of 100 shooters, whichever comes first.
There will be side matches, free dry camping, and a Saturday Evening Cookout!
We will shoot regardless of rain, shine, sleet, snow, heat wave, etc.
In a perfect world it would be 65 degrees and clear, but we live in New England - just wait five minutes and it will change anyway.
Be prepared.
Side matches are not considered part of the individual State Championship so a Match DQ on Side Match Day will only affect results on that day.
A Match DQ during the Main Match means you are done for the remainder of the weekend.
The round count for the 10-stage Main Match will be about 100 pistol, 100 rifle and 60 shotgun.
Wise shooters will bring plenty of extra ammunition for reshoots, etc.
Main Match scoring will be by "Overall Rank Points".
CAMPING
For those that like to camp, we have plenty of area to camp at no charge, but no electricity or water hookups.
Sites are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
There will be Porta-Potties located around the grounds.
Use of Golf Carts or ATV's is limited to Handicapped Shooters & Officials Only.
Visitors and spectators are welcome, but must wear eye and ear protection while on the range.
Normal glasses or sunglasses are fine.
We will have a small supply of earplugs and safety glasses available.
Volunteers are needed for various duties!
